CAPTAIN'S NOTES:

Wall now old Timers!

Greetings from Tallow River,

Hope you all had a good Christmas.  I’ve heard nothing but good things about our Christmas dinner, we had 42 skinners attend.  Many thanks to:  Joan Morris and Big Dan Davidson for their music, Steve and Deborah Pollack for the centerpieces and Fallen Buffalo (Bill Suhr) for hosting the dinner at 4-Mile Historic Park.  Good grub too, Addes Catering Kitchen.

$301 was raised by our auctioneer, Bill Suhr, to go to the Fort Fund.  And thanks to Little Butt (Nancy Dawdy) for handling the gift exchange.

Hopefully next year even more folks will be able to attend, especially if we can have it at 4-Mile Park.  Such a nice room, thanks to all for coming.  This was a nice cap for 2004.

Thank you all for your support this past year, we had many challenges, much work needs to be done still ahead, if we all work together.

We will be having a TRT meeting in February.  More details later in this newsletter.

 See ya’all at Frozen Toes.

 Till then.

Keep yer fires small and watch yer top knot,

Waugh!

REPORT ON 1st Annual BEAR CLAW WINTER CAMP

 1-7 through 9, 2005

A half dozen hardy folks attended.  1 tipi and two other tents camped along the river at old Ft. Lupton.  We dined on mustard chops with mashed potatoes and venison stew, Waugh!  A few shots were fired with hawken rifles and fires were started the old-fashioned way, we all stayed warm dispite the cold temps, and spirits were high, some music was played and stories were told.  We hope next years will be bigger and better, maybe New Year’s Eve.  All had a good time, we laughed till our innards ached.

Till next time,

Bear Claw

This is very important for insurance coverage. Non FLMLC members are not insured and can only shoot

 at sanctioned events.

January Shoot Results

It was a great day to shoot with the sun out and the wind fairly calm most of the morning.  Thank to all those that

showed up.  Jack Cutshall hosted the shoot and in addition to the club targets, we had an X @ 50 yards, a bow tie and

single bull @ 25 yards.  Six people attended and were Duane Jones, Jerry Farringer, John Callor, Rick Wicks, Jack Cutshall

and Ron Saner.  Ron Saner will host the February shoot.

Club 100 yd                           Jerry 47, John 46 and Rick 41

Club 50 yd                             John 54, Ron 49 and Duane 48

50 yd X                                  Jerry 36, Duane 36 and Jack 33

25 yd single bull                   Jerry 42, Ron 37 and Duane 35

25 yd bow tie                        Ron 37, Rick 35x and Jack 34x

Fine shooting from all.  The Fun Shoot or as we called it the ‘Frozen Tush’ shoot was only Ted Nelson, Alan Heath,

John-Rick & Roni Callor showed up for breakfast and shot a few rounds to try out some new targets.  We did not stay

very long!

A few items to discuss that have been mentioned in the past.  This was prompted by a situation on Sunday January 16th.

q       The range is open to FLMLC members and their guests only.  If you are not a member of FLMLC you can not shoot at

 the range.

q       NO hunting loads for casual shooting. Target loads only.  That means no more than 1 ½ times

powder than caliber ball size.  Hunting loads are only permitted at a formal site-in when we schedule

 them.

q       NO sabot, bullets, mini balls or plastic patches of any kind.

These are in addition to the FLMLC range rules that have not changed from the TRT range rules.  Anyone caught

shooting on the range in the future and not obeying the rules could loose the ability to shoot on the range.

Any questions about range usage or joining the FLMLC please ask John Callor, Bill Lang or Bill Crowley or any

other member.  We have had few problems in the past and we intend to keep it that way.

 John Callor

TRT Range Officer

FLMLC President
