Heritage Fair

to ensure that their persona, clothing, gear and equipment are as accurate as possible.

What was it like to live at different times and places in the past.  What kind of foods did they eat, how did they make a living and what did they do for fun-and you won’t even need to know Latin to ask.

Demonstrations of historical skills including swordsmanship, blacksmithing, weaving and carpentry, brain-tannin, etc., will take place through-out the day.  Special large scale activities will take place at scheduled times at

the lower common area.  These special activities will include English Rennaissance era Morris Dancers, Revolutionary War military drills and mock combat, and Buffalo Soldier horse drills and mounted combat, and 1890’s baseball.  Don’t get too close, or youmay become a part of the action.

Up at the Historic Park tour the 1838 Fort Lupton and learn about life in 1830’s Colorado.  Visit the 1860’s farmhouse and maybe help in planting the heritage garden.  Or sit down in the 1870’s one-room schoolhouse and see if you can pass the test!

There will be an admission fee of $5.00 per car for the fair.  Additionally there may be additional charges for special fundraising activities.  Food and drink that will be available on site.

Don't miss this unique opportunity and all of the fun, fascination and history of this event. For more information see the brochure, contact heritagefair2013@spvhs.org or contact Jan Clower at 303 877-1752.

The Fort Lupton 2013 Heritage Fair

The Fort Lupton Heritage Fair brings the past alive, and the Seventh Annual Heritage Fair will be bigger and better than ever.  This exciting event will take place this year on May 4th,  from 9AM till 4PM.

The event is set up as a historical timeline with re-enactor camps spanning the Vikings up through World War II.  Each group is staffed with individuals that are most enthusiastic about their own special time and place and they’ve gone to great lengths to
