Heritage Fair

to ensure that their persona, clothing, gear and equipment are as accurate as possible.

What was it like to live at different times and places in the past.  What kind of foods did they eat, how did they make a living and what did they do for fun-and you won’t even need to know Latin to ask.

Demonstrations of historical skills including swordsmanship, blacksmithing, weaving and carpentry, brain-tannin, etc., will take place through-out the day.  Special large scale activities will take place at scheduled times at

at the south parade area.  These special activities will include Vikings sparring in internecine warfare, Revolutionary War military drills and mock combat, and Buffalo Soldier horse drills and mounted combat, and 1890’s baseball.  Don’t get too close, or you’ll become a part of the action.

Up at the Historic Park tour the 1838 Fort Lupton and learn about life in 1830’s Colorado.  Visit the 1860’s farmhouse and maybe help in planting the heritage garden.  Or sit down in the 1870’s one-room schoolhouse and see if you can pass the test!

There will be an admission fee of $5.00 per car for the fair.  Additionally there may be additional charges for special fundraising events, such as shooting a black powder rifle at the firing range, horse and wagon rides, as well as for food and drink that will be available on site.

Don't miss this unique opportunity and all of the fun, fascination and history of this event. For more information see the brochure or contact heritagefair2012@spvhs.org
