Goodnight Trail Chuckwagon Dinner
This event is a new annual event for the South Platte Valley Historical Society. It is our fall fundraiser and it is limited to 100 guests. Fort Lancaster (a.k.a Historic Fort Lupton) along with the other three trade forts built on the banks of the South Platte River set the stage for the development of the Northeast part of Colorado. After the Indian trade period, came the period of ranching and cattle drives. This event celebrates that period of time and the famous trail that passed to the east of Fort Lupton on its way to Cheyenne Wyoming.
